Encrypted No account Deletes itself

Copy and paste between your iPhone and a Windows PC

Apple’s Universal Clipboard lets an iPhone and a Mac share a clipboard, but it doesn’t work with Windows. ClipPigeon fills that gap in the browser, in both directions.

From Windows PC to iPhone

  1. On the PC, paste your text here and choose Save text.
  2. Choose QR code.
  3. Open the iPhone’s Camera and point it at the screen. Tap the link that appears. The text opens in Safari, and you can tap Copy text.
A laptop saves a text and shows a QR code. A phone scans it, and the text opens on the phone.

From iPhone to Windows PC

  1. On the iPhone, open ClipPigeon in Safari, paste the text and tap Save text.
  2. Tap Share… and send the link to yourself in an app you also use on the PC, or copy the link.
  3. On the PC, open the link and copy the text.

Why people use it instead of the alternatives

  • No Apple-only setup. It works the same with Windows, Android and Chromebook.
  • No accounts to link, and nothing to install on either device.
  • Nothing left behind. Unlike emailing yourself, the text deletes itself at the time you choose: 1 hour, 1 day, 7 days or 30 days.
  • Private. The text is encrypted on your iPhone or PC before it’s sent. The key is in the link, so our server never sees the text.

Tips

  • For a password or anything sensitive, tick “Delete after it’s opened once” and choose 1 hour.
  • For something you’ll need again later, choose 7 or 30 days. It stays in Recent in the browser where you saved it.
  • Long text is fine: up to 100 KB, about 100,000 characters.

Questions

Why doesn’t my iPhone clipboard work with my Windows PC?

Apple’s Universal Clipboard only works between Apple devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Windows isn’t one of them, so you need another way.

Do I need to install anything on the iPhone or the PC?

No. Use Safari on the iPhone and any browser on the PC.

Is it safe to copy passwords this way?

The text is encrypted on your device and our server can’t read it. For passwords, choose “Delete after it’s opened once” and the shortest expiry.

Does it work with iPad too?

Yes. Any iPhone, iPad or other device with a browser can send and receive.
